APPLICANT PROFILE

Responsible and committed professionals who wish to strengthen and enrich their knowledge in Economics. They must have a bachelor’s degree in the areas of economics, business, statistics, sociology, or other related areas that certify solid mathematical and analytical knowledge and skills.

GRADUATE PROFILE

Upon completion of the program, the student will master the application of quantitative methods to the analysis of socioeconomic phenomena, the evaluation of public policies, and business management in order to propose alternatives from their organization. On the other hand, this level of knowledge will allow them to continue their doctoral studies in Ecuadorian or foreign institutions, further deepening their analytical capabilities.

Learning outcomes or program competencies:
• Apply quantitative methods according to the different types of analytical approaches to socioeconomic problems.
• Evaluate qualitative strategies for the optimal direction of economic policies with local and national impact.
• Prepare research reports according to the type of target audience.

Requirements

For Ecuadorian applicants, an updated ID card. For foreign applicants, a valid ID or passport issued by their country of residence.
For Ecuadorian applicants, an updated voter registration certificate.
For applicants who obtained their third-level degree in Ecuador, it must be properly registered with SENESCYT. For applicants who obtained their third-level degree abroad, it must be properly registered with SENESCYT (https://siau.senescyt.gob.ec) or have a certified or legalized copy with consular approval.

To analyze the decision process of economic agents by applying micro and macroeconomic models, for the design of solutions to economic problems.
To estimate causal relationships between economic variables through the application of econometric and statistical methods, for the decision making process in public and business domains.
