OVERVIEW

The Master of Science in Art and Technology (MARTECH) is a dynamic hybrid postgraduate program that combines in-person engagement, hands-on experiences, and independent study. It integrates face-to-face practical activities with online theoretical learning. By utilizing physical and digital resources, multimedia technologies, and virtual environments, MARTECH fosters vibrant interactions among participants, both synchronously and asynchronously, through various digital platforms.

Mission: To cooperate with society in fortifying researchers who integrate the knowledge of art, science, and technology, generating high-impact studies to promote innovation and sustainability.

Vision: To be a national and international leading reference in research that seamlessly integrates art, science, and technology, encompassing the rich multicultural expressions present in Latin America.

Competencies: 

  • Technical-artistic principles in audiovisual technology: Adapt audiovisual material, applying technological, narrative, and aesthetic principles, including the use of time as an expressive resource in editing.
  • Digital postproduction workflow: Applying concepts, tools, techniques, and procedures of digital postproduction for experimentation projects in the area, including knowledge of computer programs and audiovisual techniques.
  • Audiovisual content creation: Create audiovisual projects focused on the functional, historical, aesthetic, and theoretical knowledge of film and video.

APPLICANT PROFILE

This program is for professionals with an undergraduate degree, ideally in the arts and humanities, especially those focusing on the arts. Candidates should know how to use digital communication tools, edit programs, and understand basic electronics and programming. We also welcome professionals from architecture, computer science, engineering, and the construction industry, particularly in electronics, automation, and sound, with experience in digital arts and interactive media. The program combines various fields and promotes a collaborative, integrative approach.

GRADUATE PROFILE

Our graduates will improve creativity and innovation through art. They will connect higher education with the business world to share knowledge. Graduates of this program will bring technology and science closer to society, helping to raise cultural awareness. Artists will use advancements in biotechnology, electronics, robotics, mechatronics, computing, telecommunications, and telematics. This will lead to new images, sounds, and products. They will also critically discuss the sociocultural effects of technoscience.

Monday to Friday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. 

Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Saturday classes take place every other week. The weeks that include Saturday classes will always feature one free day during the week.

  • 1. Demonstrate in his daily field of action the mastery of the theory, criticism and practice of Art in hybridization with the languages ​​of technosciences which induce collaborative processes of association with society. (C3 and C5).
  • 2. Participate in the execution of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary scientific research, based on applied and experimental methodologies that contribute to respond from the Art-Technology-Science integration to society's demands. (C4 and C6).
  • 3. Publish the results of scientific research in indexed journals, as well as carry out dissemination in society, opening new ethical debates about technoscience. (C3, C4, C5 and C6).
